- Literacy tip of the week: Synthesizing is kind of like summarizing however there is a clear difference which will help you know when you have or beginning to know how to apply synthesizing reading strategies. Both strategies are done after you have finished the reading however summarizing is retelling what you read in your own words. Synthesizing is taking what you read, questioning it, critiquing, connecting it to other information and making it useful for you. Think of a time that you learned how to build a lego structure and then decided to change it or apply what you have learned before to modify the structure to be better. That involves synthesizing.
- There will be a wrap up meeting for the grade 4's who were involved in read rebels, today in Mme Nina’s room. See you there at noon recess.
